Proud
I don't particularly feel like a proud person, I'm not particularly proud of myself when I make achievements. However I still feel the need of people to be proud of being a part of my life, proud of knowing me.
I feel that these days, people are always constantly trying to achieve things to make others look up to them, make them "proud". Do I really have to prove myself for people to appreciate me for who I am? do I really need to do stand out just so people can use me as a way to show off? Do I have to be important for me to have made a difference in peoples lives?
Why can't people just accept each of the people in their lives who work hard doing something they enjoy and be proud of them?
Sometimes, I feel I try so hard, and all I get is the repetition of how great someone else is being rubbed in my face. Just because that person is more talented then me, or he started this interest of before I did, doesn't mean I can't be good at what I'm doing.
Maybe, I'll never become as good as these other individuals, but why do you make it seem like it's always a dog fight, and I am your dog who loses every fight, even though he's working his hardest, even though he's carrying all the battle scars and he's still fighting, you never see how great he is and how hard he's trying.
Like a father watching his child
Just had our concert. Everything turned out pretty good.
I had a friend telling me that he was really excited to see our performance 5 min prior to when we started. I said to him not to have such high expectations because I was afraid of letting him down, and he responded by "there's no way you could let me down, it's like a father watching his child perform". These words touched me at heart (yes you know who you are). It has made me realise, that your true friend's won't judge you by your talent, ability, effort. True friend's will accept and appreciate you for who you are. Just like a father to his child.

Reading
Reading, Something I feel I should be doing more of, I can only benefit from reading more. I always feel reluctant to pick up a book, because I take a while to get into what i'm reading so for the first few pages i'm basically forcing myself to keep on going , and more often then not i'll give up and go watch t.v. or something hahaha. But when i do get over this initial hump I genuinely start enjoying myself and I find it difficult to stop, this always catches me by surprise i'm continually amazed by the way reading can spark ones imagination, provoke thought and expand your vocabulary
Here is the list of books i've since about the beginning of last year, they're all either best sellers or have movies made, so pretty well known books.
The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller
Given to me by a friend (Katrina), it's a relatively short read, which is why she thought i'd like it haha, an engaging book i probably read like half of it on the train ride home that day, about an intense love affair, that leaves you strangely haunted at the end.
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
The Twilight series
Something of a guilty pleasure I know, I was working at the cinema when the first movie was released and before that i'd never heard of Twilight, the movie was so insanely popular so I decided to see what the hype was all about. Knowing the book is always better than the movie I thought I should read the book. I must admit that I quite liked reading Twilight, even though the story is nothing original I still enjoyed the teenage love story with vampires. Then I gave the rest of the series a crack, they all kind of pail in comparison to the first book, not a whole lot happens, reading them was kind of a tedious process. But I might as well have finished what I started.

The home-made sandwich you get for lunch
Do you guys recall the days of primary school, where your mum would prepare you a sandwich for lunch and for some reason everyone else's sanddwiches looked better and tasted better? I do.
This morning when I got up for a shower at 6:30 in the morning, I came back into my room to find myself with a mum made sandwich on my computer desk. I don't think i have ever been so greatful for a sandwich in my life, as I am sick of eating uni food, fast food and instant noodles. This sandwich reminded me of the times where life was care-free, everything was so easy, I wish I was a little boy again.
I have yet to taste my sandwich, I am kinda excited in a way, now that I am older it feels like this sandwich looks better and will taste better than everyone else's lunches.
Everyone's so busy to blog nowadays due to exam or "cbfness", I'll try to update this as often as I can :)

:D
Just watched Limitless rip up at stomp. They were amazing, I swear I had tears developing at the end of the performance. Although I was not a part of the crew or group which performed, I felt that I was nervous with them when the winners were being announced. I have never felt so happy for other people in my life.
I am so proud of all you boys.
It is said that "Men cry not for themselves, but for their comrades." I guess the same goes for happiness. People are hardly happy for themselves, but instead happy for others. I can't believe for a second I felt like I cbf going to stomp. It was hella worth it. Shame to all the people who missed out.
Reality and Dreams
Almost every one of us, thinks that one day if we wanted to, we can be successful. We all think we can have good lives, live the dream, be the best dancer, find the love of our lives, be happily ever after. And then comes reality.
Chances are that the majority of us will never achieve what we have dreamed in our lives. We won't be as wealthy as we imagined, probably won't become the best dancers ever and may live a struggling life. I don't mean to be negative and stop you from what you're doing. I mean it's great for a person to have hope, but at times you just need to understand that you need to be realistic and stop chasing goals out of your reach.
However with that said, I still admire the people who work so hard for what they love, although their goals are constantly being crushed and they know that what they want to achieve is near impossible, they still continue chasing the impossible. That kind of strength can only be developed from within their hearts. Unfortunately, only a small number of people who work hard their whole lives actually manage to achieve their goals. But for the people who have failed and worked hard, they still go away with new experiences and better understandings. They will be willing to accept what has happened, and construct goals in the future of their lives which will be possible and they will succeed in.
On the other hand, there are the people who do nothing their whole lives and still expect their dreams to come true. They expect to have it easy and I don't mean to insult anyone, I'm just voicing my opinion. The small minority of people who do get lucky, and reach their dreams with the least amount of effort possible, they are this planet's greatest disappointment to me. There are people out there working so much harder then you, to try and gain the same dream as you. However, you because of born status circumstances or a lucky series of events etc, gets to achieve your goal before the rest of them? do you really feel that you deserve it? don't you think that if you worked hard as well on an even battlefield against someone else, the sense of achievement you gain would be greater? Or do you just feel that you are better then everyone else in the world and you deserve it either way?
I guess what I'm trying to say is, even though we are all born in inequality. People being smarter, richer, more athletic then others. We shouldn't be judged for the talents and assets which we were born with. Instead we should be judged in the effort which we put into these dreams we have, the effort we make into being better people, the effort of trying to make a difference. Maybe one day people will see through the same eyes as me, and what I have concluded will become a reality, or maybe I am also dreaming.
Most of this probably didn't even make sense, I just had all these random thoughts after listening to these tunes lol. So I decided to write them down.

Been super busy :( buy hopskotch tickets off me
Hey guys, havn't written anything sensational and interesting for a while now. Life has been super busy for me, got the concert coming up, piled with assignments etc.
Anyways, except for being super busy, I feel that my quality in life (well-being) has increased lately. I seem to appreciate things more, be more happy and enjoy my days more. I think this is a result of my hard work at Uni this year finally paying off. Getting some decent grades, haven't really wagged many classes. For once in a long time, I'm actually proud of myself.
I wish I had realised this sense of achievement earlier in life. I look around at some friends of mine who are younger then me, but will be most likely graduating before I do. Depressing. Those years of WoW has got me nowhere in life, so if you're out there fiending some MMORPG. Time to quit bro, this is from experience.
Feeling like practising the flute again, parents always knew what's best for you, I never shoulda quit. Hopefully soon I can shape up and start playing duets with martin or something. As for girls, I wish I could know Science girl's name, or even better, I wish she knew my name haha.
Now over reading this, I realised that this post doesn't really have anything interesting to learn from, so I've failed my mission.
Meh.
If this could happen to me and science girl hahahah

Wong Fu Productions, When Five Fell
Wong Fu Productions is an independent production company that produces, among other things, short films and music videos for indy artists. Although i've only been aware of them for a short time, i'm a huge fan of their work. A lot of their stuff I can relate to emotionally, (hmm i'm not too sure what I mean by this, but it seemed an appropriate thing to say), or through having similar experiences.
Check out their latest short film titled, When Five Fell. The concept behind the film is quite innovative, I think. Five different house hold items give their perspective of events as their owner falls in and out of 'love' with them. What you realize is that the objects are describing a relationship from how it is at the start to how it ends. While the film itself is minimalistic and slightly amateur, i'd imagine it was made on a very small budget, the cinematography more than makes up for this. It is shot very beautifully, from the shifting of focus and the camera angles, the golden look of most of the shots makes colours appear deeper and richer. The voice over work is also very good, the girls pretty cute too, just sayin.

Kick-Ass
Everyone thinks that a hero needs to be a person who makes a great impact on the world, saves lives, find a cure and gets girls. In reality, heroes like that don't exist anymore, instead theres a bit of a hero in all of us, whether we choose to exercise this part of us is up to the individual.
All we need is a person with influencial power to become a role model for something positive such as recycling or a behaviour of being nice to one another. For example Tom Cruise was able to make the religion of Scientology escalate in numbers, he put himself up as a role model and was able to make a change in what he believed was good, to himself and many others, he's a true hero.
Even a person with no influencial power can become a hero. People like you or me, all we have to do is stick to our believes, stay true, and eventually we will find others who have the same thoughts as we do about making changes in the world.
As an individual we may not be able to do much, but if we are able to be a role model and share our knowledge amongst others, eventually people will admire what you do and try to become a hero themselves.
We all wanted to be a hero at sometime of our lives, so why not make it this very moment, start making changes and we can all become heroes.
In the movie it is said "With no power, comes no responsibilities" this is proven incorrect, we as individuals are all responsible for this planet which we live in, for the actions we make and for the feelings we distributed to others.

Requiem for a Dream
I've just finished watching this movie, I had been meaning to watch Requiem for a Dream for a while after hearing a friend mention it, I guess it was something about the name that kept it in my mind, anyway I finally got around to watching it and I have to say that i was deeply disturbed, I never thought a fridge could scare the shit out of me. The tone of the movie is very bleak and haunting, I have a feeling that it'll be stuck in my mind for a while. The score, combined with the camera work creates a sort of tension throughout the film that builds up to the point where something sudden happens that makes you soil yourself, not unlike what happens in thrillers/horror movies
The movie is about four people each of whom have separate stories which are told in parallel as they try to better their situations, it also shows what they're willing to do to make their dreams come true. Addiction is a major theme in the movie as all the characters start or end up addicted to drugs
causing some hallucination sequences which were the things that probably got to me the most, i.e. the fridge thing mentioned earlier. It contains a fair amount of nudity, sex and drug use, probably explains it's R18 rating.
Jared Leto, from 30 Seconds to Mars plays one of the main characters in this movie, he's a pretty multi-talented guy, with the music and acting, both of which i'm a fan of.
Definitely worth a watch if your looking for something different, but maybe a little too intense for my taste.

Martin X Jaishan
Jaishan and I decided to head out to Dressmart today, Jaishan wanted to go to the Dickies store. Once we got there we hit the Converse store first where I tried on some chucks but decided against buying anything. After we headed to the Dickies store and as soon as we got inside the fire alarm went off, everyone was then evacuated, at which point we decided to run a muck with the camera. Here are a few shots from today's adventure.
When we first got outside of the building
Starting to get serious

I only realised there was someone in the truck as I was about to take the picture haha

We decided to head out to Manakau and check out the Dickie's store in Manakau. Before we left, I decided to jam some scratchies. Here's the result:
Started with $5 worth of scratchies
Only won $4, down $1 BOYS!

IMA SUCKA FOR..
It's been a minute since I blogged.
I haven't got any new pickups, instead I have done the opposite and sold a lot of my stuff. So hopefully I can find something new to cop in a few days with the extra cash i got.
Here are a few pieces I have been wanting for a while now. I'm a sucker for a black suede upper and a white midsole..
Firstly the 003 Vans x Wtaps Chukka. Defiantly my favourite out of all the Vans x Wtaps collabs. Released in 2006, it's hard to come across a DS pair without paying rape prices.
Lastly the Black Visvim FBT Ancestor. Coming across this is extremely hard, let alone it being in my size. Hopefully one day soon I will come across a pair.

Next is the Black Adidas 80's Campus designed by Kazuki. Released not so long ago, it is quite possible to track down a pair. Same problem once again is I don't want to pay overhyped prices.
Lastly the Black Visvim FBT Ancestor. Coming across this is extremely hard, let alone it being in my size. Hopefully one day soon I will come across a pair.

Today I'm gonna talk about the TV shows which would've made an impact in our lives in certain ways when we were small.
Power Rangers:
Probably one of the first costumed transformable heroes which people think about when the topic is mentioned. The original 5 came in red, yellow, pink, black and blue. The yellow would be asian, and the black would of course be a dark man. Many people would say that green ranger would be their favourite ranger, because he starts off evil, becomes the leader later on and basically fucks people up ( at one point when he was evil, he could take on all 5 rangers by himself). Little do they know that the green ranger is also the white ranger, after green rangers powers got taken away from him when he became a good guy, Zordon secretly creates the white ranger to "save the day". Power ranger would probably be my favourite 90s transformable hero shows (for the first 4 seasons anyway, where they still used the original characters before they switched to alien ranger, zeo rangers, jungle ranger etc), due to the great choreography in the fight scenes compared to most other shows.
Big Bad Beetleborgs and Beetleborgs Metallixs:
I quite enjoyed beetleborgs. I recall when i was a little kid, I would always choose to watch beetleborgs over whatever other show was on in another channel. Sadly Beetleborgs was canceled into the 2nd season :( Beetleborgs consists of 3 kids who found a genie like entity that agreed to give them 1 wish after being rescued. The kid's wished to become comic book super heroes and gained supernatural powers, the white kid getting telekinesis, dark kid getting super speed and the white girl getting super strength. Due to the fact that they became real heroes from a comic book, so of course their counterpart villains also became real. At the end of season 1 the big bad beetleborgs were defeated by a new enemy, and were stripped from their powers. They then had to get new suits and became the beetleborg metallix. Although the choreography wasn't as good as power rangers, it was still an entertaining show and had a super catchy opening tune.
Masked Rider:
Even though I thought masked rider was pretty cool, he was probably my least liked suited super hero (The USA version anyway). The choreography was below average, and the colleagues he had were boring. A bunch of normal human beings, a furry alien thing, a talking motorcycle and a talking car. I also did not really like the fact that he looked like a bug. The story line was quite linear and did not give many options for better story development. The USA one was stopped after the first season.
Big Wolf on Campus:
The video says it all, although he's not a suited super hero like the others, he's still so dope.

Apologies, RENT
I've been super swamped with tests and assignments lately and because of this i've been neglecting my blogging duties, so apologies for the absence.
Anyway last Wednesday I went to see the Broadway musical Rent. I've always had a thing for musicals but I had never seen a musical live on stage before and I didn't really know what to expect, but I must say that I really enjoyed the experience. One thing that I noticed was the difference between acting on stage and what I see on t.v. and Movies. I noticed that the actors' movements were much larger and emotions more exaggerated on stage.
The story tells of a group of artists squatting in an old loft in New York in the 90's as they try to live and create while facing things such as eviction, commercialism, and homophobiaism(not sure if this is a word, probably not) under the shadow of the AIDS epidemic. I was surprised at the kind of light hearted take the show had on the subject, that is until the characters started dying. At which point tears almost started welling up in my eyes, shhhhh don't tell anyone.
The songs I liked the most were probably the opening number: Rent, Seasons of Love and Take Me or Leave Me.
I recommend that you see Rent if you get the oppurtunity, it's pretty bad ay.
After looking at the pictures and not liking any of the ones that i'm in only going to post this one
Shout out to my boy TJ, hahahahha, sorry bro
SKATIN'!
Ps. I got a new haircut, pictures to come...

Girls, The Book of Eli.
Girls
However, it is still the lack of reflection in their own lives which causes females to be perceived as inferior to males. Girls these days frequently go on diets to try lose weight, to make themselves look skinnier like the models which they see on magazines (who are always visually edited to look perfect). Little do they know that large amount of males actually do not find super skinny girls attractive, also girls who actually love themselves for who they are seen to be much more vibrant and fun.
The commercial world also give out images that girls should not be talking, for example I have seen an advertisement selling eye liner, and in bold words printed next to the girls face are "let your eyes do the talking". These messages subliminally sink into peoples mind, for both males and females, making them slowly store the thought of men being greater compared to women, explaining why even though they are working the same job, men would get paid on average 10~15% higher.
I want this picture of the world to be changed, I'm sick of seeing people hurting themselves trying to lose weight. I'm tired of girls dressing themselves in mini skirts even when it's freezing, just so they can get more looks. I'm tired of people trying to be someone else instead of being content about who they are. I grew up mostly with just my sister and my mother, they have both proved to me that women can be strong, women can stand up for themselves and that they are no less then men.
The Book of Eli (not a spoiler)
Although not everyone would enjoy this movie as I did, I still recommend everybody to go watch it. It is interesting to see how many things we take for granted in this current world. We all consume infinitely as if that we will never run out of resources on this finite planet. Factories produce mass toxic chemicals, cut down trees, dig out mines and pollute our water in an ever increasing rate. One day when we have reached the end, and nothing is left, we will realise how much we have wasted, and how much people would pay for things we would throw away. Like chapsticks, shampoo, soap, all these things will become the ultimate luxury when all we have is nothing. So please people, be good to the environment, recycle more and use more organic products !! (using more organic products also decreases the chance of you getting cancer, as artificial chemicals are one of the main causes)

Comsci B
Here i am, another day in the computer science labs of UoA, where i have spent 70% of my university life, even though i'm not enrolled here. Listening to "I'm not afraid - Eminem" thinking about the come back which he is trying to make, wondering if i will be able to make a comeback in my own life. All this time i have wasted in the past few years, will i ever be able to make them worthy? would these experiences which i have been through in those years become useful to me one day? I wish there was a time machine, not one where i can go to the past and change things, because i am perfectly happy with what i have now, my friends, my family, i feel i have finally reached a sanctuary in my life where i feel content about who and what i am. Instead, being a person who always seeks the truth and useless information, i wish i had a time machine which could show me where i would be and what i would be doing right now if i hadn't made so many mistakes in my life, would i be working full time already? or would i be living in the streets? or maybe even dead?
Anyways, i want a tattoo, maybe not today or anytime in the next 1~2 years, but i know i definitely want one and will get one sometime in the future. I have been giving this plenty of thought and as of right now, i want to have a full sleeve of a bamboo forest.
Why? you might ask me. Well, my last name is Lin, written in tradiational chinese, it is made of 2 characters of "wood" and is defined as a forest. I want something which i can always use to remind myself of who i am and my family. The bamboo on the other hand, symbolise the strength of my life force. As bamboos are one of the very few trees who can stand up to hurricanes, showing that after all the distractions and stepping stones in my life, i am still standing strong, like a bamboo forest would.
The symbol of bamboos also have other meanings. "reliability, courage, longevity, good fortune, and impending fame" and in china, bamboo is said to be the food of the mystical phoenix, the word bamboo in chinese is synonymous with "to wish" and "to pray". In japan, bamboo trees are often planted around shrines to ward off evil.

Lab Rat
So I'm taking part in this study thing where they are researching the effects of like this thing called ab lib which tells when you're full i think.
Anyway what happens is that the night before you go in you can't have anything to eat after 8pm which is pretty rats since I love eating. You eventually get to eat when you get to the place at like 8:30 in the morning which means I have to wake up at like 6am and battle through that beast rush hour working man/woman traffic.
So you get to the place hungry as hell anticipating the meanest breakfast ever and they give you a bowl of hazelnut, vanilla yoghurt and a glass of water ajdhfkahskdfhakshdkfhasf and that's it until lunch time which is at like 12. Between finishing breakfast and lunch time they stick you up in a room with a bed, a desk and a t.v. which is all good since they have wireless, but the catch is that they come in every 15mins and you have to fill out these questionnaires. Also there is a communal lounge where you can chill with the other participating lab rat, which reminds me that you usually do it with one other person.
So lunch time comes around and they give you so much food that it would probably be impossible to finish unless you're a hungus beast. I forgot to mention before that when you eat you are moved to the eating room where you sit in separate cubicles to the other guy who you are not allowed to communicate with during the eating period. So you pretty much sit in the room for 30mins hearing the other guy eat, so I could eat loud as like "NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM" or fart and he wouldn't be able to do anything hahahahaha. After lunch you sit around in your room for a further 2 hours then you can gap.
You do this four times and then they give you around $300 including petrol money WOOHOO!!!! (time for gears).................. plus you get free feeds and your helping out the human race which is the important part.
What Grinds My Gears:
Traffic: Wow I hate traffic its the wost thing ever. Why cant everyone just drive at the same speed and not crash into each other? It turns my 20-30 min drive to uni to a 1-2 hr drive ajhsdjkahsjkdajkbjcbasdfddasfdl. Also why cant everyone just carpool? Nearly everyone stuck in traffic is alone in their car, It's way "funner" sitting in traffic when you got boys in your car wildn' out like there's no tomorrow.

Tired.
After surfing 5th dimension, it's got me starting to want to rock em tall tees again. They are however slightly too big for me, even though i want to have a baggy look (because i'm short).
Just had dance practice and i feel incredibly tired, my legs are about to fall off. I did notice that wearing tall tees when in my practice gears, made me look like i was a better dancer. Gonna wear them for practices more. Also as an extra note, the pro club tall tees are really good for absorbing sweat!
Got a new red the north face jacket today, will post up pic of pick-ups when i get more shit :D

Random thoughts, What really grinds my gears | JS
Random Thoughts.
Me and my friend continued our night as a duo, heading down to Obar just to have a chat and relax a bit, on the way there we discussed how if only there was a place like Obar in Howick or Pakuranga (East Auckland) things would be so much better. "that'd be good" i said. "that'd be heaven" my friend replied. This got me thinking, heaven is more perfect then we should imagine it as, as god's perfection is greater then ours? but if i say wanted to go hang out with my friends at Obar in heaven, would there be one? would the drinks and BBQ pork bellys be free? would they have yakult soju ( my favourite)? Heaven really would be badass if so.
Lately I've been thinking about purchasing a new mobile phone, well actually i've been thinking about this for a while now, but i also want other gadgets too. Gadgets such as a camera, macbook etc etc. A good friend of mine recently purchased a HTC phone from his friend for a real cheap price, this got me to do some research on HTC phones. I then discovered that HTC phones come with heaps of great functions, but with great functions also come with a greater price. I spoke about this to my friend who i went with to obar, and he explained to me that logically, only people who are tough or have bodyguards can have HTC phones. The premise behind this statement is that HTC phones are generally more delicate and expensive, therefore should not be used as a weapon if you ever get into a fight.
Love. A lot of people think that one day they will find the one they want to be with, blah blah happily ever after. They imagine that when they meet someone and their heart is constantly jumping, they have found the one they love. I find this to be incorrect. People go clubs and bars etc, because alcohol increases blood pressure and makes hearts beat faster, creating in illusion of being in love. It is statistically proven that if you were to ask someone out on top of a high bridge your success rates would increase, due to the illusion of adrenaline pumping in a person's veins, making them think they are in love. Love can be a chemical reaction, I'm sure if you take a girl bungy jumping before asking her out your chances of hooking up with her would be increased drastically.
Iron man. Do i really like iron man as much as i think i do? Not talking about the movie, but the hero. Do i like iron man because hes iron man and he is bullet proof, can shoot beams from his chest, use photon cannon and repulsive blasts? or do i like him because he's Tony Stark, the baller as play boy who is materialistic and has near infinite amount of money. The world's definition of a hero has changed, in the present civilization, it's the nobodies who do good deeds that give them no personal benefit other then emotions who are the heroes.
What really grinds my gears
People who think they are superior: Yea you're good at something, we get it. You don't have to constantly rub it into peoples faces and act like you're the man because you are ballin' or you are good at dota or someshit. People will like you heaps more if you were humble and shared your knowledge to help others reach where you are.
People who don't know anything but pretend they do know: If you don't get it, you can just ask a question and we will explain it to you. You don't have to act cool and all and end up embarrassing yourself.
People who buy something and then complain about spending money: If you are gonna complain, don't buy it. Easy. You know who you are.
Albert Park: I hate you, you really grind my gears. The only thing you're good for is graduation days.
Auckland CBD traffic: Whichever civil engineers that designed these roads needs to have their degree stripped from them. I mean wtf? seriously wtf?
The present definition of brotherhood: Back in the olden times in asia, if some guy needed money to buy medication for his son, a friend would sell all his belongings including the little shop he owns on the side of the streets to purchase medication for him. That's real friendship. No one values their friendship like that anymore, not even me.
People who call others haters when they are just speaking the truth: The truth can be hurtful sometimes, but you would rather someone telling you the truth then everyone licking your nut letting you think you're the man right? Stop calling truth tellers haters, it's the people who laugh at the truth tellers statements that are the haters.
Guys with zero swag, maximum girls: You guys just grind my gears coz im jealous. How the hell do you guys do it?
People who judge things for everyone else: If you don't like a movie, don't like a book or just don't like something in general. don't say it's not a good book, movie etc. Just say you don't like it.
Douche: You might be wearing that striped button down shirt with rolled up sleeves, popped collar and massive bling on your left ear. You think you are the center of attention, all the girls want you (which you may be right) and you look down on every other guy (who's not a douche) because you are like a king or something. Reality check dude, you're not that cool, so show other people some respect as well man.
GYAMZ
Hey guys, I'm Tony. I like gyamz.
If you watched the trailer, the game does look pretty boring. And if you happen to be watching a friend playing the game, apparently it is boring as well.
I will quickly talk about Demon's Souls today. Demon's Souls is an action RPG for the PS3. (Playstation 3 ) This game is an exclusive to PS3.
This game is known to be very challenging and unforgiving. Games in our generation, we are given everything with no punishment for mistakes. For example if you played World of Warcraft since Burning Crusade or earlier and compare it to Wrath of the Lich King, you will know what I mean.
So if you expect to lose nothing every time you make a mistake, don't try this game, because you will make a lot of mistakes and start from the beginning all over again.
So if you are actually playing the game, you get to choose your class like a Soldier or Magician. For every character you make, you can allocate points into attributes like Strength, Vitality, Magic and Intelligence. You can do this every time you level up. Your character will also have equipment slots, from head to toe. You will then try to fight your way to the end of the dungeon.
However, if your PS3 is connected to the internet. You can also summon up to two 'Blue Phantom' to aid you, but be aware of faggots that will invade your world as a 'Black Phantom'. These black phantoms are real players. Most of these players will have some kind of PvP build and most likely destroy you, but if you want to be a faggot too, you can always just plug pull your PS3. This is the PvP element of this game, and at higher levels of the game there is an active PvP community.
If you somehow do manage to complete the game, well New Game+ awaits you. The difficulty will be increased by 50%, and then another 8% every time carry on again to New Game+.
Score: 8.5/10

Dilemmas
Going back to Taiwan in the mid year holidays. Not sure if I should buy a DSLR, a decent video camera, or just save money and buy more clothes. ZZzzzz..
Well the benefits for buying a DSLR are pretty obvious, I can take mean pictures of my trip and also be useful in the future for taking pictures. As for the video camera, I can make films of my trip and also use in the future for videoing myself when practising bboying. Hmmmm. Decisions..
Also, another thing that's been on mind lately is if I should get my skulls hemmed, I quite like the stacks most of the times, but sometimes it seems a bit too much.If someone can help me answer these questions in my mind.. please help.. lol.
Season changes suck nuts, I always get sick every season change. Need more people to sing "soft kitty" to me ^^.
Got no relevant multimedia for these thoughts in my mind, however I thought I'd share this interesting video about a Bboy talking about synergy.

Martin's Music Vol. 2
I went along with some friends the other night to watch a New Zealand production of the Broadway musical, Rent. But I'm still waiting in some photos so i'll have to hold off on writing a proper blog on my Rent experience until I get them. So for now I thought i'd blog about some more music that i'm diggn' at the moment
Mos Def - Auditorium (Feat. Slick Rick)
I also found this clip of Mos Def breaking down Auditorium, how the song came about and what he was thinking when he wrote the lyrics. The way he explains his lyrics makes the meaning seem really clear, well the part he explains anyway, check it out:
The Roots ft. Erykah Badu - You Got Me
Common - Everywhere
Probably one of my favourite tracks off Universal Mind Control, he's got a concert in Auckland next month and i'm still in the midst of debating with myself whether I should go or not as the concert is in the middle of my exams and i'm pretty sure I have an exam on the day. Sigh

Grease Zynga
Been watching this clip over and over again. Classic musical, catchy, good lyrics and nice melodies. What more can a human being expect from life? Grease is pretty dope, probably one of my favourite musicals of all time (sound of music is pretty mean too). Many of us at some time of our lives most likely loved grease, but has forgotten about how beautiful this film is. Keen as to watch grease on DVD at Sop's house now.
Also, selvedge denim in the first second (0:01) of the film.
In the past few days, due to watching Jaishan and Blair playing Zynga poker. I have recently re-found another old love of mine, Texas Hold'em. The thrill of getting the best hand, feeling proud with a great bluff you made and betting correctly to win the pot, these are many of the few joys in life which I now realise I have been missing out on.
Please send me free chips :D.
I can feel myself catching a cold, the weathers so crap nowadays and constantly changing. I hope everyone brings an extra layer to uni and keep themselves warm! don't make the same mistake I did!
CON-GRAD-ULATIONS!
So this week is graduation week. I should be graduating at this time but unfortunately I am not. Then again I don't want to work just yet and would rather stay at uni for as long as possible as after that my life is basically over.
CONGRATULATIONS:
JESSEY
LAITH
ADITYA
Oh yeah, I had my first Camera battle, which I easily won!

Sara Bareilles
With martin posting up what he's been jamming to lately, it has inspired me to share the music which I've been listening to as well.
Stumbled across Sara Bareilles while visiting a friends blog where she used her song "gravity" as the background music.
Whether you are in or out of love, her songs are all quite touching and pretty mean to chill to, or get you into the mood for study.
Martin's Music
A few jams that i've been jamming to lately
Corinne Bailey Rae - Paris Nights / New York Mornings
Wow, such a soulful, chill song. A slightly funky beat paired with Corinne Bailey Rae's beautiful voice makes this song good to have on repeat while working/studying. I must remember to buy her latest CD at some point.
Wu-Tang Clan-Can It Be All So Simple
The Fugees - Fu-gee-la
I really like the beat of this song and Lauryn's voice is so powerful.
Nirvana - Come as You Are (Live Acoustic)
A song i'd heard a number times during my younger years, but only really started appreciating recently. Probably because my musical taste is more open than it once was.
Theres so much good music out there
